PIL marks a historic first in Ghana with the naming of its first LNG Dual-Fuel container vessel
PIL marks a historic first in Ghana with the naming of our first LNG dual-fuel container vessel.
The vessel was named Kota Odyssey by Her Excellency Ms. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, at a ceremony held in Tema on 16 September 2025.
Just like any proper wedding, the naming ceremony had:
- Months of stressful planning (including heated debates over the seating plan)
- Champagne, speeches, photographers, and plenty of smiles
- A beautiful lady
- And then, in the blink of an eye, it was all over.
However, unlike most brides, this majestic lady is skipping the honeymoon and heading straight to work — Kota Odyssey is deployed on our Southwest Africa Service (SWS), connecting China, Singapore, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire through a direct weekly service.
Big thanks to customers, colleagues, partners, and friends who made the day special — and a special thanks to MPS and Mohamed Samara for hosting us.
